In your absence
are the conspicuous remains
of what you termed
our ‘relationship’:
familiar things
like your stained kettle,
the splotch on the floor
where you dropped paint,
the geranium
by the open window.
Outside the light
of empty early morning
shows things
as they simply are
before the coming
and going of people.
From book:
Acts themselves trivial
